mailing preference logoThe Mailing Preference Service (MPS) is a free service set up 20 years ago and funded by the direct mail industry to enable consumers to have their names and home addresses in the UK removed from or added to lists used by the industry. It is actively supported by the Royal Mail and all directly involved trade associations and fully supported by The Information Commissioners Office.

Paper

Paper in landfill rots down to produce greenhouse gases that contribute to climate change. You can help stop this:

  • recycle all your paper ( see 'where to recycle' right hand block)
  • use both sides of any paper,
  • reuse envelopes,
  • buy recycled paper

Please take just 5 minutes to stop unwanted mail.

Also see Shrink Paper for ways to reduce paper use.

Highland Council kerbside (blue box or blue bin), recycling points & centres take: newspapers, magazines, catalogues, telephone directories, unwanted mail, greeting cards, shredded paper but not envelopes, tissues etc. Read more
