cardboard

Cardboard

Cardboard is taken by the Highland Council kerkside blue bin collection or can be taken to any of the main recycling centres such as Dingwall, Alness, Tain and Inverness.

Re-use cardboard as much as possible, e.g. using boxes for storage, posting parcels etc. Gardeners may wish to consider using some cardboard as a mulch, or, if ripped up/shredded, may add (often much needed) carbon-rich bulk to compost complementing the “slimy” nitrogen-rich kitchen waste. If you are interested in adding additional worms to your compost heap, place corrugated cardboard on a patch of ground for a few days to attract a collection of worms underneath, as they love the glue in the card!
