Bikes are relatively easy to repair and can be sold even if in poor condition. Old bikes can be given to friends, donated to charity shops e.g. Blythswood or sold through advertising in local papers or shops. Some cycle shops even sell second-hand bikes e.g. Dryburgh Cycles in Dingwall. GREAN at Golspie refurbish bikes - you can leave bikes at Dingwall recycling centre for collection by GREAN. You can drop off your old bikes at New Start Highland (9Carsegate Rd N) as they now operate New Start Bikes (formerly Black Bridge Bikes) in Inverness and they will refurbish the bikes. Or you can drop them off at the Highland Council Recycling Centre as they have a bike collection container.
Even if your bike is in bad condition, it could still be re-used - even if your bike is beyond repair, you can recycle the metal parts at Recycling Centres that collect scrap metal. Read more
