Similiarly, our Food Waste Diary also helps you become aware of what food you are wasting and so helps you make changes. Download our food waste survey before and after you use the diary - has the diary helped you cut down on food waste?

HOW MUCH COULD YOU RECYCLE?
Using the Highland Council 2003 waste analysis data we worked how much of your bin you can recycle depending on how you recycle and whether you compost.
- kerbside box & brown bin recyclers could recycle 31% of what they throw out; if they composted as well it would be 39%.
- blue bin recyclers could recycle 24%; if they composted as well it would be 46%.
- recycling point recyclers could recycle 27%; if they composted as well it would be 49%.
- recycling centre recyclers could recycle 49%; if they composted as well it would be an amazing 57%.
(figs assuming 8% of food waste (ie fruit & veg) can be composted).
