RoWAN's Scarecrow Festival 26th June to 16th July 2010

Golfer ScarecrowCalling all Scarecrows!  RoWAN is holding a Scarecrow Festival.  Scarecrows will beBikini Babe Scarecrow popping up all over the Inverness area as part of a new festival.  The RoWAN Scarecrow Festival is a fun way to get people thinking about food and packaging waste.  Scarecrow makers and voters will pledge to cut down on the food waste they create at home, work or school.  It is open to businesses, households, schools and community groups.  Entry is FREE and the Entry Deadline is now the 15th June.

 There are 3 categories:

1. Traditional - made in the traditional style with straw hat, arms straight out, etc.

2. Comical - a scarecrow on a humorous theme

3. Eco-Scarecrow - a scarecrow made from or depicting an environmental theme or materials

Three easy steps to join our free festival!

1. Choose your category and make your scarecrow.

2. Take a digital photo of your scarecrow.

3. Fill out our entry form (click here for entry form), attach your photo and form to your email and send it to info@rowan.org.uk  If you have microsoft word 97-2003, please click here for a compatible entry form.

Prizes will be awarded for the winner of each category and an overall festival winner too!

When we receive your entry form, a certificate and entry number for display with your scarecrow will be issued.  The entry number will be used for voting on-line at www.rowan.org.uk

For tips on how to make a scarecrow, click here!  Entrants are all encouraged to use recycled, natural or reused materials when creating their scarecrows.
