Light Bulbs, including Energy Efficient and Fluorescent Light Tubes

Good news! Light bulbs can now be RECYCLED. Click here for more information on WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment).

Energy-efficient light bulbs will not only save on electricity, but, as they can last in some cases for 10 years, will save on the number of bulbs going into the bin/being recycled.

Fluorescent tubes are a concern as they contain mercury and energy-saving/long-life light bulbs contain materials like phosphorus which, as with fluorescent tubes, pose environmental problems when not handled carefully - so do recycle them at the Recycling Centres.
