Packed Pumpkin Parties!

Where could you find ghouls, witches, pumpkins, pirates, vampires and fairies all hanging out together?  At RoWAN’s Pumpkin Parties on Saturday 31^st October! 

Both the Alness Averon Centre and Inverness Aquadome parties were a big success with over 150 guests taking part at each location…that’s 300 party goers!!  Adults and kids alike enjoyed the festivities.  This was a great chance for us to promote home composting and reducing food waste by making soups and using up leftovers. We had lots of wonderful, imaginative creations for our pumpkin contest.  It was a difficult decision for our judges.  Congratulations to our Crazy Decorated Pumpkin contest winners, Cougar MacDougall (Inverness Party) and Shania Discomb (Alness Party).

For the colouring contest, we separated all the entries into the two age groups (4-7 and 8-12) and drew winners at random.  Winners for the Alness Party were Katie Brown, age 7 and Jordan Grant, age 11.  Winners for the Inverness Party were Anna-Avelina Zelanika, age 6 and Leah Bennett, age 9.  Congratulations to all of them and their prizes are in the post!

Special thanks to RoWAN’s volunteers, Marianne, Katie, Trish, Alison, Finlay and Jamie for helping  at the parties.  Also thanks to our face painters, Louise Innes from Happy Faces and Pamela Hardwick for such a great job!  Thanks to the staff at the Aquadome and Averon Centre for all of their assistance.  And The Storehouse for providing delicious pumpkin nibbles at the Alness party.
