Make a New Year's Resolution To Cut Waste
Is there something more that you could do to cut waste? Make a resolution at home or at work!
- start to recycle or recycle more: paper, food cans, drinks cans, cardboard, plastic bottles, glass, drinks cartons.
- stop unwanted mail.
- cut down food waste (you could save £430 a year) by: shopping more carefully, better storing including freezing, checking use by dates, using leftovers, better portion control, planning menus, growing your own fruit & vegetables.
- start to compost or compost more by adding uncooked fruit & veg waste or using a cooked food composter.
- use my compost and/or buy peat-free compost.
- use reusable bags and choose items with less packaging.
- cut down on using plastic bottles by: using refillable bottles, drinking tap water instead of bottled, encouraging other household members to cut down on plastic bottle use.
- use washable nappies.
- buy less and reuse more.
- volunteer with RoWAN to help other people cut waste.
- we are also looking for people to join our RoWAN board.
Even one more small action helps our planet and it may help your pocket!
