Invergordon tackles waste incinerator proposal
Eighty people attended a meeting in Invergordon Arts Centre on Thursday 30th July to find out more about the proposed waste incinerator. Anti-incinerator campaigner Dr Van Steenas outlined health dangers from the type of incinerator planned followed by a lively question-and-answer session.
RoWAN's anti-waste initiative, Slim Your Bin, provides information and support for people who question the need for an incinerator. Householders can take positive action to reduce the amount of waste they throw out, for example composting, reducing food waste, careful shopping choices to avoid excess packaging and not making unnecessary purchases.
If you'd like to be part of the solution to the waste problem, then join RoWAN's Slim Your Bin campaign. Fill in a short survey form with information about what and how much you throw out at the moment, then keep a diary of how much you're managing to reduce your waste. Contact the office, download the forms below or just fill in the survey form online here.
