Green & Easy Christmas Event

Ullapool’s Village Hall saw a great turnout in November to Ross-shire Waste Action Network’s Christmas event, aimed at helping householders cut waste at Christmas.

Over 120 people came through the doors to enjoy children’s crafts, demonstrations on making edible gifts and low-waste decorations, Waste Warrior, the High School’s smoothie bike, information on how to cut waste at Christmas, on washable nappies and on winter composting, a swap table piled high with treasures looking for a new home, and of course the Fair Trade group’s famous catering, joined by the High School fair-traders. A fantastic team of volunteers made the event a real success.

At the event people also signed up for RoWAN’s Slim Your Bin challenge and it’s not too late to join in.
