Royal National Institute for the Blind (RNIB)

The RNIB has various recycling schemes mobile phones, printer cartridges and used stamps.

Companies, schools and colleges

Companies, schools, colleges and other groups who have a large number of cartridges or mobile phones to recycle will receive a collection box (or boxes). This box will be delivered to you and collected when full free of charge. They can also arrange to send collection boxes to other departments in your organisation.

Please don't include toner bottles, ribbon cartridges and Epson inkjet cartridges as we are unable to recycle these. If we receive these in large volumes they may have to charge you for their safe disposal.

Recycling at home or in small organisations

If you do not have a large number of cartridges or mobile phones to recycle, freepost bags can be sent to you instead of a box. These freepost bags are only suitable for small quantities of inkjet cartridges or mobile phones and are ideal for home users.

Box collections

When your collection box is full all you have to do is ring the number on the side or complete the online form. Collections will usually be made within 48 hours of receipt of your request. Please note that all cartridges and phones should be packed in their original boxes or a suitable alternative so that they don’t get damaged.

Special note

They cannot recycle Epson inkjet cartridges, toner bottles or ribbon cartridges

Pack your cartridges and mobile phones carefully – this ensures they get best value when recycling.

Please send any unwanted chargers or phone accessories with your mobile phones, as this will help they to raise extra money.
